FK Mladost Apatin (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Младост Апатин) is a football club based in Apatin, Vojvodina, Serbia. ==History== The club was founded in 1924 under the name SK Tri Zvezde (''SC Three Stars'') by an industrialist named Šefer who owned a clothing factory in Apatin named Tri zvezde and intended to advertise his factory ttough the name of the club. A couple of years later he left the club because of debts, and the club direction was taken by two lawyers, Špepf and Berleković, and the president of the Apatin district, Jozef Šnajzer, who managed to gather donations from town citizens and save the club. The founder, Šefer, left the club direction, however in this pre-WWII period numerous players worked in his factory as well.〔Fudbal u Kraljevini Jugoslaviji, Sijić, p. 173〕 The club changed its name to FK Mladost (''FC Youth'') in 1950. After the break-up of Yugoslavia, the club became more significant in Serbian football, being funded by Apatin Brewery. After several seasons of competing in the Second League of FR Yugoslavia, the club finally got promotion to the First League of FR Yugoslavia in 2001. However, they were relegated after only one season, finishing second from the bottom in 2001–02. In 2006, the club was promoted to the Serbian SuperLiga, finishing 6th despite horrible results in the second half of the 2006–07 season. However, due to financial problems, the club officially announced their withdrawing from the top tier in July 2007, and was later replaced by Napredak Kruševac.
